Senorio de Barahonda has produced a number of excellent value-priced wines that are listed on the Best Buy chart at the end of this report. At the top end of the range, the 2006 Heredad de Candela is 100% Monastrell aged for 9 months in new 500-liter French oak. Dark ruby-colored, the wine offers up a slightly exotic perfume of wood smoke, leather, and wild blue fruits. Ripe, sweet, and complex, this tasty effort will evolve for several years but can be enjoyed now and over the next 6-8 years.
