This New Wave wine from Sicily is a blend of 70% Nero d'Avola, 20% Syrah and 10% Merlot. Aromas of vanilla buttercream, cedar, cinnamon and clove make one wonder if the fruit has been oaked into submission, but the bright cherry fruit shines on the palate and lingers through the tart, smooth finish. Soft enough to drink now, but should get better through at least 2005 and drink well until 2010.——W.E.(5/1/2002)—— 90
