The Piazzo Comm. Armando 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo shows a dark approach with medium concentration. But this is Nebbiolo, so the focus always underlines the silky and smooth elegance of the grape. Granted, this is an informal expression of Nebbiolo, but Nebbiolo it remains in heart and soul. You recognize the grape a mile away. It's perfect for a simple meat and cheese ravioli. Only about 5,000 bottles were made.

There is nice, linear tightness and streamlined intensity to the 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo, with notes of wild berry and dried currant. They give the wine a snappy and simple personality. It is very approachable and will easily pair with cheesy pasta or something heavier, such as gnocchi. You get terrific value here. With a production of only 6,500 bottles, it will sell out fast.

The 2013 Langhe Nebbiolo delivers light fruit and an inward-looking approach. The wine takes a few minutes to open. Once its aromas come into focus, you get mild doses of dark fruit, dried cherry, licorice and tar. The wine is accessible and easy-drinking.
