Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Alliance Shiraz is intensely scented of ripe blackberries and black cherries with an undercurrent of cedar, vanilla, anise and mace. Full-bodied and nicely balanced in the mouth, it has just enough enlivening acid and a medium level of velvety tannins, with the finish going long and spicy. Drink this one now to 2016. Deep garnet-purple colored, 2008 Alliance Shiraz gives reduced tar and burnt rubber notes to begin then opens out to aromas of warm blackberries and plums over licorice with a whiff of cinnamon stick. The 2005 Alliance Shiraz is crimson/purple with an attractive nose of cedar, smoke, blueberry and blackberry.
