The 2021 Etna Bianco Arcurìa reveals a volcanic bouquet with sulfur stone, lots of citrus and honeydew melon. The wine needs to flesh out further, and thanks to that hint of reductiveness, we can expect a long drinking window. The wine sees both stainless steel and large oak aging, and only 4,000 bottles were made.

With just 4,000 bottles produced, the 2020 Etna Bianco Arcurìa starts off in stainless steel but comes together with aging in large oak casks. The wine is marked by medium-rich texture, some crisp structure and plenty of refreshing aromas of citrus, white peach and crushed oyster shell. Alberto Graci's careful winemaking style imparts very delicate background notes of clove and cinnamon.

A pure expression of oak-aged Carricante, the Graci 2018 Etna Bianco Arcurìa boasts a pretty golden hue and a touch of waxy honey in its luminous appearance. The bouquet opens to preserved lemon, apricot and toasted pine nut. There are hints of exotic spice with cumin and saffron that add more aromatic highlights. The wine sports a slight oxidative or open-knit personality, with candied orange and almond paste, that give this vintage a heavier and fatter overall personality. Mineral notes also appear and help to put the bouquet into better perspective.

Showing the fiber and density that I attribute to the hot and dry vintage, the 2017 Etna Bianco Arcurìa delivers more volume and texture than previous editions. The fruit tastes more concentrated with honey, Sicilian lemon blossom and toasted almond. This beautiful expression of Carricante is also very slightly evolved, revealing some of the petrol-like aromas that make this grape so unique on the world wine stage.
