The 2008 Carmenere Piu (Carmenere/Merlot) is a pretty entry-level red laced with berries, grilled herbs, licorice and dried flowers. The 2007 Carmenere Piu is a wonderfully perfumed, fresh wine with well-delineated aromatics and bright red berries wrapped around a core of lively minerality. This beautifully-balanced wine delivers tons of class and elegance, if not a ton of varietal typicity. Still, it is an awesome glass of wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2017. Inama is one of the leading producers in the Veneto. The whites (Soave and Sauvignon) push the boundaries that those varieties are capable of in terms of sheer richness.
