This wine is medium-to-dark ruby-colored and intense. Iron, mineral, and sweet blackberry aromas give way to its extracted, concentrated, structured, medium-to-full-bodied, rich, and deep character. This Chassagne offers scrumptious red and black fruits intermingled with stones. Aditionally, it has the power and backbone to evolve gracefully. Anticipated maturity: 1999-2004+.
Bernard Morey's Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes is produced from vines that average 50 years in age.
Bernard Morey and his sons crafted seven lovely 1996 red Burgundies, many from old vines. Moreover, all of them are reasonably priced.
