The 1991 Nuits St.-Georges-Les Chaines Carteaux has problematically high tannin levels, a hard, tight-fisted style, lean, austere structure, and seemingly insufficient fruit to hold up and balance out the wine's astringency. It is a long shot at best. Serveau is known for his light, delicate, lacy style of Pinot Noir. In 1991, his wines range from merely competent, to two very good premier crus from Chambolle-Musigny. Importer: Louis/Dressner Selections, New York, NY.
