The 2009 Gunslingers Shiraz offers a deep garnet-purple color and pronounced notes of warm blackberries and spiced plums, blueberry preserves, cinnamon, mace and vanilla pod with a whiff of toasty oak. Crisp, rich and full-bodied with lots of vibrant primary fruit supported plus a medium level of grainy tannins, it gives a long vanilla and spice finish. Though delicious now, it should cellar to 2016.
