Aged in 70% American and 30% French oak hogsheads, the inky ruby/purple-hued 2002 Shiraz Dove Tail (from a 20-year-old vineyard) offers up aromas of smoke, graphite, vanilla, blackberries, and cassis. A notion of licorice also makes an appearance in the flavors. Full-bodied, with great fruit, a beautiful texture, and a long, heady finish, it should drink well for 7-8 years.Importer: Peter Weygandt, Weygandt-Metzler, Unionville, PA; tel. (610) 486-0800
