The 2006 Unforgiven Rustlers Cabernet Sauvignon is very deep garnet in color with an earthy, meaty, gamey nose plus underlying notes of kirsch, dried plums, salami, dried Mediterranean herbs, moss covered bark, pencil lead and cigar boxes. Well structured with medium-firm very finely grained tannins, high acidity and a long earthy finish, it should drink well from now through 2016. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon “Unforgiven Rustler” spent 24 months in 30% new French and 30% new American oak. It offers an appealing aromatic array of wood-smoke, spice box, pencil lead, black currant, and blackberry. Made in an elegant, racy style, it is velvety textured, intensely flavored, and lengthy. Give it 2-3 years to evolve and drink it through 2020.
