The 2002 Pago de la Calera was aged for 18 months in French oak. Inky purple, it delivers a nose of earth, violets, leather, mineral, and blackberry. On the palate the wine is a bit lacking in concentration although the flavors are stylish, It will evolve for 2-3 years and drink well through 2015.
