The 2011 Alberti 154 Malbec is from Lujan de Cuyo and sees 10 months in 80% French oak, the remainder American. It does not possess the same clarity as the Cabernet Sauvignon, with broody blackberry and pastille aromas that do not coalesce. The palate is sweet and sappy with plenty of ripe, dark plum and strawberry fruit, although the finish is rather saccharine. Drink now.
