The 2016 Tinto Roble reveals a nice nose combining fruit and oak aromas and a medium-bodied palate with moderate acidity. 136,000 bottles.

The 2015 Tinto Roble has reminiscences of the Reja, with darker fruit and more spice, as it spent half a year in well-seasoned oak barrels. The palate has fruit and some tannins, with good balance and freshness. 136,000 bottles.

The range is very wide and some wines feel quite similar; the 2014 Tinto Roble had half a year in well-seasoned oak barrels, but keeps the fruit-driven profile of the Reja form the same vintage, with berries and a pinch of cinnamon complementing the licorice notes. The palate is medium-bodied with good freshness, polished tannins and good persistence. This wine is very pleasant. 140,000 bottles.

The 2011 Rejadorada Tinto Roble is pure Tinto de Toro and comes from 15- to 30-year-old vines, then matured in second and third fill oak for six months. It offers pleasant dark plum and black currant aromas on the nose with a subtle earthy note underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with robust tannins and a pinched, soy-tinged finish. The entry-level 2009 Tinto Roble was aged in barrel for 6 months. Toasty black fruits, espresso, and licorice inform the nose of this dense and sweetly-fruited wine from the great 2009 vintage. In the glass it shows outstanding depth, concentration, and 1-2 years aging potential although there is no need to defer gratification. It is a good value for drinking over the next 5-6 years.
