A good value, Otazu’s Macon-Villages-like 2002 Chardonnay exhibits copious amounts of orange, citrus, and lemon-like fruit in a medium-bodied, delicious, dry, fruity, exuberant style. The 1997 Chardonnay, which was given full malolactic fermentation in new French oak, reveals an international style with obvious spicy oak as well as straightforward, honeyed tropical fruit with hints of lemon zest in the background.
