The 2005 Vitral is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Tempranillo. The grapes were crushed by foot with both primary and malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine was then aged for 18 months in new French oak. Deep purple in color with a bouquet of pain grille, exotic spices, violets, black currant, and blackberry, on the palate it is backward, in need of a minimum of 5-7 years of additional cellaring. All the right stuff is present, but patience will be required. It should be at its best from 2016 to 2030. Importer: New Age Imports, Verona, NJ; www.newageimports.com
