The 2003 Monte Negro Reserva is 100% estate-grown Tempranillo from 30-year-old vines. It spent 18 months in seasoned French and American oak. Dark ruby in color, it offers an attractive nose of cedar, spice box, mineral, and blackberry. Medium to full-bodied, the wine has plenty of ripe, spicy fruit, moderate tannin, and good balance. It will evolve for several years and drink well through 2020.
