The 2009 Murtia Monastrell (85%)-Syrah (15%) spent 5 months in new French and American oak before bottling without fining or filtration (as are all the Murtia wines). Sourced from a single vineyard, it gives up notes, of smoke, mocha/chocolate, game, underbrush, and blueberry.
