The Branko 2019 Collio Chardonnay is a lean-bodied white wine with just enough texture and natural depth to suggest a pairing with grilled fish or seafood risotto. Some 40% of the wine is aged in oak, and the rest sees stainless steel. Like Igor Erzetic's other whites, a delicate mineral note adds a bright, linear personality that works beautifully next to the easy brightness of the primary fruit. Some 8,000 bottles were made.

The 2017 Collio Chardonnay comes together beautifully and offers terrific value at this price point. Showing a streamlined Burgundian style, the wine is enormously glossy and radiant with linear aromas of white peach, honeydew lemon and lightly toasted almond. This wine is a real beauty, and the heat of the vintage adds exuberance and power. One third of the must is fermented in oak. Only 5,500 bottles were made.

The 2014 Collio Chardonnay is executed in a very pure style in which great attention is paid to the integrity of fruit. The wine opens to beautifully shaped aromas of yellow rose, pear, stone fruit and smoke. Some 20% of the wine is aged in large oak cask. The wine offers good complexity with mint and mineral, and good complexity on the finish.
