Fresh and vital, this graceful wine offers a core of red berry playing against pear skin flavors on the lively finish. Drink now through 2016. 696 cases made. –HS

Also beautifully polished and suave, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is slightly muted aromatically and took some coaxing. With air, black currants, loamy earth, wild herbs and hints of chocolate all emerge and while there’s solid purity and freshness, the intensity is turned down a notch. Solid on the palate, with a medium to full-bodied, supple texture, juicy acidity and moderate length, it should be consumed over the coming 5-7 years. Drink now-2020. Tel. Velvety, with juicy cherry and raspberry flavors, hinting at white chocolate and wet earth as the finish lingers. Best from 2013 through 2017. 588 cases made. –HS

Dense, complex and distinctive for its earthy, floral, spicy nuances around a rich core of currant and plum fruit, with a supple, deft finish. Drink now through 2015. 960 cases made. -HS

The only real disappointment in the portfolio is the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate it is lean with barely enough fruit to merit a recommendation. It should be drunk over the next few years while it retains its fruit.Cadaretta’s wines are currently made at a custom crush facility from purchased fruit as the winery waits for its recently planted estate vineyards to come on line.
