A pure expression of Nero Buono aged only in stainless steel, the 2011 Polluce offers simple lines and an unfocused bouquet. You can sense many fruit tones here, but it’s hard to put your finger on exactly what they are. I recognize cherry, cranberry, ash, tar and bitter plum. There’s not much structure to speak of; It drinks in an unassuming and very easy fashion. Nero Buono is an ancient grape variety that has adopted to the volcanic soils found outside of Rome. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2014.
