The 2012 Orvieto Classico Superiore Soana Secco imparts a lean, crisp feel with tones of lemon and stone fruit. A grassy edge adds brightness to the finish: Pair this wine with a fragrant, light dish such as baked tomatoes stuffed with tuna. Drink: 2013-2014. These are two of the most interesting wines offered by the Monrubio winery, founded in 1957 in a rather industrial zone near Orvieto. No American Importer.

Orvieto is the mainstay of operations, and the 2001 Orvieto Classico Soana, which sees a bit of oak, is the flagship white wine.
