Fortia's 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is 80% Roussanne and 10% each Clairette and Grenache Blanc, but it comes across as relatively straightforward, linear and medium-bodied, with crisp, lime-like flavors that finish crisp and simple.

Fortia's white is a blend of 70% Roussanne, 20% Clairette and 10% Grenache Blanc. The 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc was made entirely in stainless steel. It boasts fresh, floral aromas as well as richer notes of honey and stone fruit and a line of crisp, lime-like acidity running through an otherwise plump, silky textured wine. I prefer wines like this in their youth, but I can see drinking it after a decade in the cellar as well.

Still not yet bottled, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc from Chateau Fortia is a Clairette-dominated blend that includes 30% Roussanne and 10% Grenache Blanc. It’s racy and borderline tart, yet has lots of green citrus, mint, and crisp peach aromas and flavors; I suspect it will round into form nicely once in bottle.

Chateau Fortia’s 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is rock solid, revealing a light gold color as well as lots of citrus blossom and freshly crushed rock-like aromatics. Medium-bodied, lively and taunt, this blend of 60% Clairette, 30% Roussanne and 10% Grenache will be a perfect meal starter over the coming 2-3 years.

A medium-bodied, supple and straightforward effort, Fortia’s 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc (60% Clairette, 30% Roussanne and the balance Grenache Blanc) has pretty green citrus, mint and hints of wet stone minerality all emerging from the glass. It shows the freshness and focus of the vintage nicely, and will drink well over the coming 2-3 years.
