A white that exceeds expectations is the 2014 Cotes du Rh?ne les Vignes du Prieuré Blanc, which checks in as a blend of 45% Roussanne, 35% Marsanne and 20% Clairette that was raised all in stainless steel. It offers classic notes of mulled pears, apple and hints of white flowers to go with a medium-bodied, supple, fresh and lively feel on the palate. It’s a well-made white that’s worth seeking out.

Also a noteworthy white, the 2012 Cotes du Rhone Les Vignes du Prieure has a mineral-laced core of sweet peach and honey-styled aromas and flavors to go with a medium-bodied, juicy and nicely textured profile on the palate. Solid all around, with excellent richness that’s cut by good acidity, it should drink well for a couple of years. Drink now-2017.
