This medium to full-bodied 2022 Marsau is an attractive wine produced from 100% Merlot. It has a delightfully pure bouquet of peony, violet, iris, menthol and cassis, followed by a crunchy and juicy yet fresh texture and then by a mineral-driven finish of remarkable purity, expressing elegant notes of licorice and pencil lead. Anne-Laurence and Mathieu Chadronnier have produced a red wine that punches above its weight. Bravo!

The 2020 Marsau tastes like?the?very?essence?of Francs C?tes de Bordeaux, with aromas of violet, cassis, flowers, blueberry, graphite and a touch of menthol. It’s medium to full-bodied, broad, vibrant and vinous, with terrific freshness and a long, sapid, saline finish. I admit to having?a weakness?for the wines from?this small estate?owned by Anne-Laurence and Mathieu Chadronnier. One of the best?vintages?ever produced?here.

The 2019 Marsau exhibits a lively and fresh bouquet with aromas of dark cherries, flowers, peony, rose, cassis and dark berries.?On the palate, this wine?is beautifully balanced with finely sculpted tannins and a juicy texture representing the essence of great Merlot growing on clay soils. This is a serious wine that illustrates the estate’s upward trajectory. It will offer a broad drinking window.
