Hints of toasted grain and ripe pineapple appear on the nose of the 2019 Saint Joseph Blanc, a barrel-fermented and matured blend of 90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne. It's medium to full-bodied, nicely streamlined and compact but adds a touch too much bitterness on the finish for this taster.

The 2016 Saint Joseph Blanc is 95% Marsanne, with the balance being Roussanne. It's a plump, round, easygoing wine, filled with melon and pear notes. There's just enough acidity to keep it refreshing, and a welcome hint of anise pops up on the finish.

The 2015 Saint Joseph Blanc offers plenty of honeysuckle, crisp white peach and a touch of orange blossom in a medium-bodied, fresh style that’s a joy to drink. I’m sure it will keep for 5-6 years or more, but there’s no reason to wait.

All from granite soils and made from 100% Marsanne, the 2014 Saint Joseph Blanc has a peach and tropical core of fruit to go with more background citrus and lychee. Gorgeously pure, medium-bodied and with building richness and moderate acidity, it’s a sexy, yet classic Saint Joseph Blanc that’s ideal for drinking over the coming 2-4 years. It was vinified and aged all in one- to three-year-old barrels.

In addition to some stunning Condrieu releases, this estate fashions one serious white from the granite soils of Saint Joseph. The 2013 Saint Joseph Blanc checks in as 100% Marsanne that spent 12 months in 20% new barrels. It’s gorgeous stuff that has medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, textured, yet pure style and classic white peach, toasted brioche, honeysuckle and white flower aromas and flavors. Drink this beauty over the coming 3-5 years.
