The Colli di Lapio 2019 Fiano di Avellino Romana Clelia sees fruit sourced from high-altitude vineyards (at up to 600 meters above sea level) and calcareous clay soils. These cooler conditions and those breezy exposures with steep diurnal shifts do wonders to preserve the aromatic freshness and acidity in a grape like Fiano. With an ample 80,000 bottles made, you are guaranteed to find a bottle with plenty of apple, honey and citrus flavors.

There is a nice intensity to the 2018 Fiano di Avellino Romana Clelia, but you need to wait for it. That aromatic intensity is appreciated in the context of an easy-drinking wine such as this that should pair with all kinds of vegetarian dishes. This wine cruises steadily somewhere between second and third gear; however, there is interesting complexity and depth as well. A whopping 80,000 bottles were made, but the wine does a great job of presenting the purity of this grape without too many extra bells or whistles.
