The 2006 Rosso Conero Casirano is a gorgeous red graced with expressive red fruit, flowers, tobacco, earthiness and licorice, all of which are woven together in a medium-bodied frame. Still a touch firm, the Casirano could benefit from another 6-12 months in bottle. The Casirano is predominantly Montepulciano, with 8% Syrah and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. The 2005 Rosso Conero Casirano is a bold, deeply colored wine packed with black fruit. This dense, mouth filling red delivers tons of pleasure in a generous style, showing terrific balance at this level. Pretty mineral notes frame the long satisfying finish. The Casirano is mostly Montepulciano, plus 8% Syrah and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011.
