The 2008 Malbec was sourced from the Hogsback Ridge and Alder Ridge Vineyards and aged in barrel for 20 months. Enticing notes of cedar, lavender, and black cherry lead to a savory wine with excellent black cherry flavors and ample spice although the wine is in need of greater depth and complexity. It can be approached now and has the balance and structure to last for another 5-6 years. Cor Cellars, located in the Columbia Gorge region, started operations in 2005.Tel. The vineyard, planted in 2003, is located on the Oregon side of the Columbia River. The young vines bring bright, effusive fruit flavors of raspberries and strawberry pastry, black cherries and plums. Aromatically there are whiffs of violets and spun sugar.
