This is clearly a hot-vintage wine, and that point is not lost on anyone. The Damilano 2020 Barbera d'Asti shows a dark appearance and a strong bouquet that is fully loaded with baked plum, cherry confit and sweet earth. The alcohol content measures a robust 15.5%, and that's always an issue with Barbera, especially in vintages that are so hot and dry. There's even a touch of sweetness on the close that helps to break down the grape's natural acidity. Production is 70,000 bottles.
