The 2009 Do Ferreiro Albarino (100%) displays aromas of mineral, saline, lemon curd, and jasmine. Can’t call it floral and bright on the nose, but it’s not over the hill or maderized, either; more neutral than anything. The mouth is fresh, lively and loaded with lime, green apple and length. Do Ferreiro’s 2008 Albarino was fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel. Medium straw-colored, it displays an enticing perfume of mineral, lemon, spring flowers, and baking spices. On the palate, this terroir-driven Albarino has plenty of spicy fruit, excellent intensity and balance, vibrancy, and a refreshing finish. Drink it over the next 3 years.
