Aromas of ripe plums and strawberries mingle with nuances of cocoa and blood orange, introducing the 2017 Santenay 1er Cru Beaurepaire Rouge, a medium to full-bodied, supple and satiny wine with excellent mid-palate volume, melting tannins and an open-knit but lively profile.

Moreau expressed reservations about the oak in which he matured his 2017 Santenay 1er Cru Beaurepaire, but to this reviewer's palate it's one of his finer whites in the vintage, revealing a bouquet of crisp green orchard fruit, pastry cream and blanched almonds, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered palate with good concentration and purity.
