The 1998 Cotes du Rhone Villages Harys is produced from 100% Syrah (note that Syrah spelled backwards is Harys). It is a monster, rustic effort that reminds me of the Syrah cuvee produced by Francoise Reynaud's estate called Fonsalette. Extremely full-bodied, impressively concentrated, brutally unevolved and youthful, but bursting with potential, this is a wine to lay away for 3-5 years ... at the minimum. If it resolves its tannin, this will be spectacular! It is time to take note of Domaine du Trapadis.
