Aromas of crisp peach, pear, white flowers, spices and mint introduce Fournier's 2020 Marsannay Cuvée Saint-Urbain Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny wine with bright acids and a charming but precise profile. It contains small proportions of Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay Rosé.

The 2016 Marsannay "Cuvée Saint-Urbain" Blanc has an attractive, popcorn-tinged bouquet with almond and citrus scents developing in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a sappy entry, notes of orange rind and tangerine with a slightly abrupt finish.

Bottled ten days before my visit, the 2015 Marsannay "Cuvée Saint-Urbain" Blanc has an edgy nose with subtle scents of white peach, orange blossom and lanolin that is well defined and gains intensity in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, harmonious and precise with a touch of nutmeg and spice box towards the finish. This is a fine and delicious white Marsannay.

The 2014 Marsannay Cuvée Saint-Urbain is a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Blanc aged in 500- and 600-liter Stockinger barrels for 12 months before being transferred into stainless steel. It has a crisp and taut bouquet with light flinty scents emanating from the Chardonnay, and a touch of hazelnut developing with time. The palate is clean and fresh on the entry, slightly waxy in texture with a hint of orange rind and white pepper towards the finish. Again, this is a very well crafted white Marsannay that should drink well for 3-5 years.

The 2013 Marsannay Clos St Urbain Blanc is a blend of six parcels all matured in large 500- and 600-liter barrels and a small proportion of new wood. It has a well-endowed bouquet of melon, pink grapefruit and flinty aromas that open nicely in the glass. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with freshly sliced pear and grapefruit segueing into a vibrant citrus peel finish. Excellent.
