More backward, but still accessible, the 2009 Crozes-Hermitage Terres d'Arce exhibits an inky/purple color as well as a hint of new oak and copious tobacco leaf, spice box, black cherry and black currant characteristics. This full-bodied, moderately tannic 2009 will not hit its peak for 2-3 years, and should keep for 10-15 years. From their holdings in three major appellations, St.-Joseph, Cornas and Crozes-Hermitage, Michelas St.-Gemms produces an impressive array of wines. Moreover, prices are extremely reasonable.Importer: Grape News Importing, Chicago, IL; tel. (773) 665-1155
