Aromas of pear, freshly baked bread, nutmeg and light reduction introduce the 2021 Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc, a medium-bodied, fleshy and satiny wine underpinned by tangy acids and exhibiting a vibrant but textural profile.

Aromas of pear, citrus oil, warm bread, pastry cream and peach introduce the 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, ample and enveloping wine that's bright and fleshy, with a satiny attack and a saline finish. It derives from two parcels: one by the river, the other in between Vergelesses and Guettes.

Notes of citrus zest, peach and pastry cream introduce the 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc, a medium to full-bodied wine that's fleshier and more textural than the preceding Bourgognes, but its generous core of fruit is underpinned by tangy acids, segueing into a precise finish.

The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc is showing nicely, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, waxy citrus rind, white flowers and fresh bread. Medium-bodied, bright and incisive, with a crisp but fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and a chalky finish, this should develop nicely in the cellar, even if it's already rather charming today.

The 2016 Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc from Domaine Simon Bize is delicious, wafting from the glass with notes of apple, pear, beeswax, smoke and peach pit. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, succulent and honeyed, with good length and light grip on the finish. A pleasure-bent Savigny blanc that should offer a great deal of near-term pleasure.
