The 2018 Pommard Les Vignots delivers a lovely bouquet of cassis, violets and cracked pepper, followed by a medium to full-bodied, youthfully chewy palate that's nicely concentrated and lively, with chalky back-end grip. It should blossom with some time in the cellar.

Aromas of ripe cherries, dark chocolate and rich soil tones introduce the 2017 Pommard Les Vignots, a medium-bodied, stony and succulent wine that's quite ripe in style despite its cool mesoclimate. Like most of Monnot's reds, it will drink well on release.

The 2016 Pommard 1er Cru les Vignots, which was not touched by frost, has a lifted bouquet with vibrant red berry fruit laced with blueberry and a touch of inkwell. I like the focus and purity here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, fine tannin, crisp acidity and a harmonious, silky finish that does this vineyard proud. This comes recommended.

An elegant style, with vibrant acidity focusing the cherry, earth and wet stone flavors. Tilts to the tart side in the balance, leaving a crisp finish. Best from 2021 through 2033. 325 cases made, 100 cases imported.??–BS??Region: France / Burgundy / Pommard Select to Add
