The only white produced here comes from the Celilo Vineyard, which is located up against the eastern edge of the Cascade Mountains in the cooler Columbia Gorge AVA. The 2012 Gewurztraminer Celilo Vineyard offers up a lively, delicious array of star fruit, melon, citrus rind and crushed rock minerality to go with a medium-bodied, sweetly fruited and supple palate. Hard to resist and a fun drink, with crisp acidity and outstanding length, it’s a no-brainer purchase and will delight over the coming handful of years. Drink now-2014.
This family-run estate was created in 2007 and the wines are made by Chris Dowsett (also the winemaker for Buty). They feature medium-bodied, savory profiles that rely more on freshness and acid than power and richness.
