The 2015 Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Auslese displays a very clear, deep, complex and smoky nose with ripe but fresh and precise fruit aromas. Super concentrated, lush and piquant on the palate, with fine but firm acidity, enormous concentration and lingering juiciness, this is a great old-vines Auslese from one of the Mosel's absolute top vineyards. The grapes were picked very late—on the two last days of the harvest—on November 5 and 6. The result is a gorgeous, already digestible wine that I'd keep for years and decades.
