It lacks the charm of what is clearly a better vintage, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (at $30 less a bottle, that’s worth noting). A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, the 2007 is a winner. It is a luscious, sweetly tannic, classic Napa Cabernet offering notes of white chocolate, black currants and spice box, and a medium-bodied, supple, sexy style. Drink it over the next 7-10 years. This winery is forever associated with their Sauvignon Blanc program, which is one of the most successful in California. They produce two cuvees and the less expensive regular Sauvignon Blanc should be on the buying list of every shrewd consumer.Tel. (800) 929-2217; Fax (707) 963-5639
