The 2006 Rosso Conero Vigna La Gattara is 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese from vineyards planted in 1990. It is a big, bold red packed with dark fruit. Some slightly rough edges remain, but the wine has mostly absorbed its two years of French oak quite well. Hints of saddle leather, licorice and spices frame the finish.
