This superb value emerges from Italy's backwater albeit up and coming Marche region. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by peppery, earthy, licorice, truffle, and black cherry aromas. This rustic, dense, mouth-staining 1999 possesses good underlying acidity, plenty of chewy, concentrated fruit, and a full-bodied, muscular finish.
