The 2008 Rosso Piceno Vigneto di Gino is a gorgeous wine. Sweet black cherries, tobacco, licorice and spices are some of the notes that waft from the glass in this delicate, fragrant red. The wine's balance is commendable, especially at this level. Best of all the Vigneto di Gino is a screaming value. The estate’s 2005 Rosso Piceno di Gino, 70% Montepulciano, 30% Sangiovese, is a medium-bodied, accessible red with an exotic, candied quality to its fruit.
