The 2012 Artisan Cabernet Sauvignon is a beauty. Full-bodied, plump, loaded with fruit and ready to go, it offers lots of blackberry and cassis fruit, toasted bread, licorice and chocolatey nuances. Incorporating 10% Petit Verdot, I’d drink it over the coming 4-5 years, but wouldn’t be surprised to see it evolve for longer either.

Knockout stuff and my favorite of the lineup, the 2010 Artisan Cabernet Sauvignon offers decadent blackberry, chocolate, charred earth, and toast to go with a full-bodied, voluptuous and thrillingly textured palate. It’s an impressive bottle of wine that has fabulous richness, solid mid-palate depth and a great finish. A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot that spent 24 months in 60% new French oak, it will drink well for 10-15 years. Tel. (509) 522-2144; www.foundryvineyards.com
