The 2016 Fromm Vineyard Syrah boasts varietally specific aromas of violets and cracked pepper, blackberries and licorice. It's medium-bodied, picking up hints of espresso on the long finish, even if it lacks the richness and texture of the best vintages.

There are four barrels of the 2015 Fromm Vineyard Syrah, which boasts peppery aromas, hints of espresso and chocolate and expressive black cherry fruit. It's medium-bodied, with slightly more prominent tannins than the La Strada bottling but ample concentration to support them. Savory black olive notes emerge and linger on the finish.

Pale to medium garnet in color, the 2014 Fromm Vineyard Syrah is profoundly scented of black forest cake, blackberry preserves and mulberries with a cracked black pepper and licorice undercurrent. Light-bodied with a solid structure of chewy tannins and refreshing acid, it has a good core of muscular fruit and long peppery finish.

Medium garnet in color, the 2012 Fromm Vineyard Syrah has a gorgeous mulberries, plums and spiced blackberries core with black pepper, licorice and dusty earth hints. Light to medium-bodied, it fills the palate with spiced blackberry flavors, delivering wonderful intensity and finesse. Supported by ripe rounded tannins and a lively acid backbone, it finishes with excellent persistence.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2011 Fromm Vineyard Syrah puts forward a really meaty nose with gamey notes wafting over the core of blackberries that has quite smoky, bacon fat and earth nuances and hints of pepper plus some baking spices. It has tons of flavor in the medium-bodied mouth, is quite earthy and meaty with velvety tannins to frame through the long finish.
