Since bottling, the 1990 appears to have put on weight. It is not as rich as the 1991, and by the standards of Gentaz, it is less interesting than his 1982, 1983, 1985, and 1988. However, it is a charming, medium-weight Cote Rotie with a terrific fragrance, as well as a lovely, fat, luscious personality. Gentaz feels it is reminiscent of the 1982, although not as full-bodied and concentrated. Already drinkable, it should evolve rapidly, so I recommend drinking it over the next 6-8 years. Anticipated maturity: now-2001. Last tasted 7/96.
