A decent-value production of about 9,000 bottles, the Giacomo Fenocchio 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo is a light and graceful expression. The wine takes that characteristic Nebbiolo intensity and power down quite a few notches, instead presenting a cheerfully accessible and easy-drinking alternative. This wine is bright and lively with wild berry, dried raspberry and light smoke or tar, making you crave a quick square of meaty lasagna.

The 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo is a simple wine, with basic aromas that don't show particular focus or sharpness. The wine offers a general portrait of the grape with hints of wild berry, rose and licorice. The inherent informality of this Langhe Nebbiolo suggests a pairing with a slice of pizza or one of the hunger-quenching kebabs I sometimes buy in the main traffic roundabout of Alba after a long day of tasting and touring.

The 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo pours into the glass with delicate, ruby-colored tonality. There is a lot of energy and vibrant fruit at the base of this easy-going Nebbiolo. The quality of the vintage fruit is clear. Pair this fresh red wine with your favorite roasted chicken dishes.

This is a solid entry-level wine to pair with easy meat dishes or pasta with cream sauce. The 2015 Langhe Nebbiolo is decidedly not complex or nuanced. It is a straight-shooting expression of Nebbiolo that offers subdued intensity and prolonged aromas of crème de cassis and toasted anise seed.
