Based on the Bernard Clone 95, the 2019 China Terrace B95 Chardonnay offers scents of toasted hazelnuts and grilled white peaches on the nose, while the medium-bodied palate features a generous feel and lightly silky texture, with notes of pear and melon, ending with a citrusy edge.

I'm not typically a fan of sweet-corn notes in Chardonnay, but the 2017 China Terrace B95 Chardonnay pulls it off, balancing that element with ripe pear and melon notes, even a hint of white peach. It's a medium-bodied wine, with a fine, silky texture on the palate and a lingering, citrus-tinged finish.

The 2016 China Terrace B95 Chardonnay is a clonal selection but otherwise is similar to the regular China Terrace Chardonnay. It sees the same 20% new French oak (a mix of used puncheons and new barriques). Smoke and toasted hazelnut aromas lead the way, backed by creamy-textured notes of apple and citrus. This medium to full-bodied wine finishes long and crisp, suggesting it has the ability to evolve through 2025.

The 2014 China Terrace 95 Chardonnay has expressive grapefruit, white peach and marzipan-laced nose with hints of struck match and cedar. The plate is beautifully textured with an elegant medium body and plenty of fruit extending through a long, lively and harmonious finish.
