The 2007 Estate Merlot is medium purple in color with aromas of cedar, spice box, cassis, and a hint of menthol. Slightly compact on the palate but with pleasant flavors, it should be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years. Gifford-Hirlinger is one of many eastern Washington wineries to have opened a tasting room in the Seattle area to be nearer to customers and to facilitate direct sales.
