The Barbera from La Morra’s vineyard is one of Piedmont’s pacemakers, and the 2001 Barbera d’Alba Pozzo maintains the important reputation it has established. A blackish ruby with a noseful of sweet, jammy fruit, chocolate, and tar, its lush palate, ample and silky, mouthfilling and caressing, is high level juice indeed. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2010.A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300, Vin Divino, Chicago, IL; tel.
